C4 radio dash piece help

Hi, in my 100 C4 avant I have installed the audi concert radio from the later a6 model ,it being wider than the standard radio it needed some persuasion to fit.. some cutting and chopping of the dash panel and its in Anyway my problem now is that I'm left with a small gap between the radio and the dash, and need the piece to close this gap. My question is does anyone have an exploded diagram of a c4 dash that shows how this piece fits in the later models, is it part of a larger frame or is it a single small piece.

I have attached a picture which might explain better than I can ,with the piece outlined in green.

Hi, that'd be great if you could much appreciated My car is RHD and the dash is black, although Im not fussed as I can vinyl spray it black after.

C4 Radio Cages

For future reference for others, there are two different radio cages that fit into the front console. One has a 190 mm wide radio apperture, the other a 220 mm wide radio apperture. The 220 mm one works for the wider faceplate on the BOSE Delta and therefore I believe it works for the Concert radios as well.



Here is the narrower 190 mm apperture cage with the space for the cigarette lighter beside the radio. The cage has for slots - top is for the Climate Control vents, 2nd from the top is space for the switches, 2nd from the bottom is the radio apperture and the bottom is for the climate control system (manual or automatic):



Here is the wider 220 mm apperture cage (with no space for the cigarette lighter, which was moved down the lower console at the same time the DIFF switch was deleted because EDL was brought in).

Well then this piece outlined in red was the piece I was referring to (except itll be on the opposite side for a rhd car) and from the image it seems to be part of the complete cage, so its the cage I need...thanks for the help guys

Ha. It was late (after midnight) when I posted those photos and I didn't see that the "trim" piece was integral to the wider cage (however, that would explain *why* I couldn't find the PN for it). At this point, you could either source a new 4A2857007A RHD wide (220 mm apperture) cage (or find one at a wreckers) OR just bodge the required piece out of wood (or plastic), paint it with semi-gloss trim paint and stick (glue) it in there.

About to put the larger radio in my urS6, so all very relevant to me, luckily for me I already have the bigger radio cage / whole centre console.

Worthwhile radio upgrade. Also works for a B4 if you get a larger radio cut out centre console from a later model B4 cabrio in the breakers yard.

Pity we don’t have a communal S2forum breakers yard to store all these “breakers yards” B4 and C4s.

sorry, they all have not got that piece, the A6 that is there still has been chavved and the radio/surround destroyed.

the other 2 have fag lighter one side, and mirror controls the other are they just 100`s then? (both badgeless)

Ah well not to worry, thanks for looking. The wider cage only became available in the later a6 c4 model, seems to be difficult enough to actually locate one that has it though.
