    Alcantara cleaning.

I bought a complete RS2 interior and took the front seats ( and probobly will get the back seat in) for my coupé, it is the black leather / grey alcantara version. The alcantara was quite ruff and knotty so i set off to start getting it back to shape. First off i took a damp microfibre cloth and started to pad it down gently (alcantara can withstand quite alot of abuse even though i have always heard it is very sensetive and all sorts. You can actually wash it in a washing machine at 30 degrees if you want) when the seat was dampened slightly i took a brush that is used to clean horse hoofs with and "spraped" the seats gently with the bristles, the seat then went less knotty and more fluffy, but quite a lot of the worn in muck was gone, my guess is it was lifted out with the bristles. After that i went and bought a lint removing "razor" and shaved the seats several times. They did not come up as brand new, but not far off regarding the look and feel of the material. there are still a few very small watermark type stains that i aim to adress soon. This operation did not cost much other than time, and it was totaly worth it. My question is what kind of detergent/cleaning aid would you recomend me? My microfibre cloth was dampened with water only to dissolve some of the muck, and i suppose i need something to take care of the stains.

Hope this "guide" can help someone out, and i am happy to answer any questions about it.

Don´t know if suede cleaners would help as it isn´t suede... Got to look into that mate, thanks for the tip. Frusciante: Your welcome, im happy to help anyone! But if i would have done it again, i would think that a soft or old toothbrush or a worn out fingernail brush would have been a better choice than the horse hoof brush as it had quite stiff bristles. I would guess that the seats would need less shaving afterwards with a softer brush.

AG Interior cleaner or a 1:10 APC (All purpose cleaner). Spray on and wipe off with clean microfibre cloth. Worked for me in the past....

              Cheers,

RaceGlaze do an Alcantara cleaner that has worked well for me. I then used a bobble off remover from jml to remove the fluff

I regularly "de bobble" my alcantara with a nifty machine designed to work on wool, I guess it ha a limited number of uses before it degrades but every 6m or so seems fine

Eventually wi need to be replaced, anyone know where to get it .
