Just thinking about the wiring for total closure. I need to pick up the wiring for the windows and sunroof and bypass the switch to make it close but do I need to wire in to the doors and sunroof motor, or is there an easier way?
Total Closure Wiring???

I would go into the wiring for the electric window relay to do both windows. The sunroof i think you will have to do separately.Black B3 1990 CQ 2.3E converted to ABY & 6spd. (301bhp) - Now Sold

I'm not sure on the sunroof, as it can be closed in 1 of 2 directions, which makes things a bit more complex.
Does the S2 have total closure on the key, like some contemporary cars of the era do?Cheers'en, AndyC

Total closure is an option that closes all windows when you turn and hold door key?
B3/B4 models don't have it, but you should be able to retrofit it from C4 100/S4. You will need window control module, window closing relay (any 60A two position relay will do the job) and some modifications in wiring. Currently i'm looking for parts to fit this in my B4.Comment

Just tried my car and it doesn't work, so I assume it's not fitted.
To do the windows, I'll just run to the window loom on the driver's side foot well but the sunroof is a little more complex, as the positive terminal switches depending on the switch position. I'll have a look at a spare unit I have and see if I can find a common positive.Cheers'en, AndyC

Paul @S2Central did a posting on the electric window circuit and the difference between the earlier control module that would one touch raise and lower the windows to the later one in our cars that one touch lower only. I assume you'll need to fit that earlier unit and then trigger it to close the windows.

Having found a total closure remote system for my '95 C4 Avant could I add an important point in case it's needed with S2's as it broke my heart on my "newer Audi". Audis need a "double" electrical signal to fire the unlock trigger in the vehicle. Not many aftermarket companies offer this option. I bought a kit from the following company and it worked a treat, with very good zapper range.

Andy my coupe came with a factory fitted alarm with total closure it was wired directly into the sunroof switch. It used to open fully then close, I guess to get around the two position switch. I might have a pic of the wiring (now been removed as it was a pigs ear of a job and I now have a pre-select unit).

OK not a great pic but might help. this was just before I removed it so shows the wires which were spliced into:

I have a normal sunroof panel at home I'll take a pic of the wiring on it later this evening if that helps

Cheers for that Alex, sounds like I'll just sort the windows for now and do a bit more digging about - I think I have enough to do just now, what with most of the interior being in the lounge or spare room
