Having done the matrix on my S2 I can't sus where this sod goes. I assumme its for the aircon..
Give me a pointer to save time...

Hmm, I don't remember seeing a female one of those. There is a male version of that plug in the stereo loom for the powered rear speakers on the coupe.
Do you have climate or AC Rob?

Just AC, its a rhd avant I am sorting for my wife.

It must be part of the AC as the button dosen't light up anymore.. Both plugs are connected at the controls..

Odd. I have an AC loom here and it doesn't have that plug on it.
Do the aux gauges light up with the lights on?

I'm sure that plug is just spare from the few cars i've worked on/broken it sits behind where the radio is.

They are a tad heavy for radio. Got to be something to do with AC...

I know what you mean but no, it doesn't. I think you only get that with climate.

Does it have cruise control....i seem to recall a similar socket....but may be wrong!

Cruise has blue connectors. This is for rear speakers.

I am sure it is the amplified rear speakers.

Its male friend is piggie-tailed off the ISO plug for the radio and the wire colours look the same.
