Arm rest for Audi Coupe N reg (B4)

    Hello All,

Can anyone help, I am after a front arm rest for Audi coupe N reg, Does one exist that fits in without too much bodging? I tried one of those fit all car type off ebay last year, but would have got in the way of the lumber adjustment.

    Thanks

I think you need one from the US, as I recall the 90 had one out there that slotted into the ashtray at the year?

If you are familiar with welding or know someone who can do it for you, you can fit armrest from C4. They are much more easier to find than B3/B4 what was US only option.
Basically you need to weld a nut to backrest frame or better the whole part from C4 frame where armrest is attached.

That is the way to do it.
It is pretty easy to strip the seats to the frame and cut and weld the boss on. You just need to find a seat with the same fabric or leather as your coupe seats. The scary bit is cutting the fabric to mount the armrest - no going back!

I got one of these a year or so ago on the A6
          http://www.ebay.de/itm/AUDI-A4-94-01...item5aec9af117

Knocked up a quick bracket to fit inside centre console, which secures at the tunnel bracket and a few panhead screws hidden under the centre console carpet.
The cloth is matched well to the interior and it is as solid as the day I fitted it

Should think it would fit a coupe no probs, centre consoles aren't wildly different from each other

Iirc the c4 armrest was most readily available in lhd.
I fitted a lhd c4 armrest to a rhd c4 previously. It has a cut out in it that gives the driver of the lhd car more space.
The lhd c4 armrest fitted to a rhd s2 will eat into the driver's space and will be annoying for gearchanges and applying the handbrake. Search for urs6 and my name to find the thread with photos.

Any photos of the a4 setup installed?

Couldn't find any with the bracket fitted up in the console but these should give an idea
The bracket is secured to the console by the four top screw holes, the legs run down the sides to the tunnel bracket
The arm rest bolts up through the centre hole

UrS4 4A seats on t89 subframes with armrest:

there is enough space between the seats for an armrest. A little bit tight, but absolutely operable.

Speaking of arm rests but a little off topic. Does anyone else find that your elbow gets as sore as hell after a long drive if resting it on the drivers door card/arm rest?
Has anyone done a mod to make this more comfortable?

I wondered a while back about cutting a piece of foam to size and getting it trimmed in black vinyl and then gluing it in place on the arm rest.

I'm sure I saw something once that hooks over the door card
I might give this a go at some point

Just thought, would a centre armrest not interfere with the coupe back adjusters?
As they are inside, rather than outside as on the c4 seats

                              Just had a quick measure
The gap between the coupe seat adjusters is 140mm and the armrest is 130mm
The pivot point of the armrest is around the same height with both seats in the lowest position
Adjusting seats would be difficult at best!
