Lazy Speedo in B4 Avant TDI

    Lazy Speedo in B4 Avant TDI

    Pal of mine has a nice B4 Avant TDI, and mentioned that the speedo never wakes up and only starts working when the car has done about eight miles. Outside temperature has no bearing on it.

    Is it a dry solder issue on the back of the clocks or something at the gearbox end of things?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I think a 90% is a problem with the speedo. I repaired an S2 unit and now is ok . THe sender from the gearbox doesn't make any hassle.
