Question about later style coupe leather interior

Can anyone tell me what year did Audi change the coupes leather interiors to the "bar" style please? Did the change occur with the introduction of the ABY?

I think Le_S2_Audi's old S2 which is a 93 ABY had the same seats so I would say most likely with the introduction of ABY coupes.

I know it's not what you asked, but mine is a 95 'N' & has that style fitted

Mine is 96 but technically build is 95, (spare tyre is stamped 95 too) it was originally on an N plate as well, same style.

answer is yes. as far as i know the larger panels were 3b. more ridged style is aby.

Thanks, so a 1993 on a K plate would be the earliest example of the newer style seats then.

i would say so.my last s2 was a k plate with that interior,never seen anything earlier.

Mine's a 94 with that style. I thought it was introduced with the ABY too. Audi switched back to the 3B style leather to match the Recaro front seats in later cars.
