It was 300 euros plus shipping, it's a re trimmed wheel that has been slightly tweaked to include the flat bottom, however it didn't come with the airbag cover so if anyone has one lying around!!!!

He means the stitching is wonky on the bottom left.

I think it looks pretty good! I would be fairly happy if I could have done it and it was my first attempt. I know Vas is having an airbag wheel covered in alcantara so am looking forward to seeing that one also.

Well I'm not actually covering the airbag itself for safety purposes. I just don't want the airbag to cause any issues not opening if it has to. If audi didn't cover it I wont either. Flat bottom looks nice even if its not actually totally flat.

It looks nice, but personally for €300 I would want it perfect.

My RS4's steering wheel was done in alcantara by the previous owner, and it's unfortunately not a good idea.
It just wears off so damn quick! My entire steering wheel is pretty much like a rats tail - naked. At least on all the areas that you usually grip.

Maybe he'll get more lucky with the material, but it is my understanding that you don't want alcantara on anything that gets a lot of wear and tear, as unfortunately it does not last long
It did look the nuts when it was done, but half a year down the line not so much.

Yes alcantara is not something that lasts long. Thankfully we don't use the car that often and my hands don't get sweaty either unless there is a 40 feet lorry coming the opposite direction in my lane and I don't have anywhere to avoid it.

Does that mean along with seat covers and carpet protectors I now will have to order in steering wheel covers too?

Better yet. This will go on to save the alcantara
