    Audi A6 C4

Looking to replace my worn steering wheel, what options do I have?

Can I fit a later Audi one with airbag? Any other alternatives, new steering wheels are hard to find!

You may be able to fit a later airbag wheel to your A6 but what about the functionality of the air bag? C4s in the USA were all equipped with air bags. There were the 4 spoke wheels as seen on some B4s and the three spoke RS2/UrS6 wheels which were also on the early B5 A4s.

The UrS6 and early B5 Sport three-spoke airbag wheels are plug and play on an C4 A6 with the larger rectangular column cover.

This is the list of compatible steering wheels (good used ones with airbags sell for about $250 over here).

Thanks for the info, I would rather retain the airbag (and its functionality!) so will have a look at B5 wheels...

According to Audi the airbags should be replaced every 15 years, does anyone do this?!

The UrS6 steering wheels should be a direct fit (I have one for my 98 C4 A6 avant). B5 steering wheels are limited to the first few years of production. Around 98.5 they changed the size of the spline and they don't fit any longer.

              Hi Duffel,

Consider getting your original steering wheel recovered by Andy of Snappy Gaiters or Michael Junior of MJ Interiors.

              Keep up the good work.
