    rhd seats in lhd car?

    hi all!

im installing a rhd interior, and i have a doubt with the front seats. everything is ok but the guide for the position of the seat.

the problem is that the lever is in the opposite side.

my first thought was to change the seats, so the right will be in the left and the left to the right....but i would like to keep them in the correct side.

    any thoughts?

The levers can be swapped from one seat to the other. The 3b and earlier had levers on the inside which was then moved to the outside to make more room. There's no difference between LHD/RHD. A few people on the forum have done the swap before and I've been told it's not much work. I'm sure someone will be able to explain exactly what to do.

there are two small holes at the front on either side of the chairs base, this means you can swap the right a left lever over in that sense and just put the spring in as normal as said above.

How ever after doing this along with a bit more cutting and shutting to get s2 seats to fit in a friends mk3 polo, you need a tab on each seat welded into place, near the back of the base the lever sits in a small whole with a plastic bush in place. just need to replicate the tab with the right sized hole and just tack it into place in the same place but on the other side.

If you need pictures i can try and get some

no problem, i found they don't have to be spot on in the exact place as its only a place to hold them, and you will learn that its quite hard to hold and weld them at the same time in that small space.

But good luck with the mod
