Is the rear portion of the boot's contents supposed to be "on view" because the small rear flap hangs down / is too short ?

The avant load cover (blind) PN is 4A9863553A and it fits everything from the 1991 C4 100 avant to the 1997 UrS6 avant and in between. The gap between the flap and hatch is less when you actually run the hatch trim. Like who does that?
