    Interior carpet

    Hi people,

I've currently got a leak on the drivers side in my coupe.

In order to make sure I've fixed the leak, can someone tell me if it is possible to remove the carpet from the coupe without taking the dashboard out?

    Many thanks

    Andy

Dashboard doesn't need to come out but all the centre consol does. It's quite a big job to take it out without any damage at all.
you can cut it near the consol/tunnel area which makes the job easier.

Lazy git Mr Smith, can tell you only pull them to pieces these days, not put them back together

Mr Seaton where did you think the leak was coming from in the first place?

I've never cut one out myself. Being a meticulous professional i've always taken the long route but i know some who've done an ok job with the snippers.

As you're aware, taking out the carpet and re-fitting it properly is a far bigger job than it sounds.

I presume the taking out of a urS6's carpet is much the same as a B4's carpet ?

          Thanks.

Morning Me T. Originally I thought that the water was getting in through the bonnet release cable grommet. Which I sealed up. However the water is still getting in. I've checked the sunroof drainage, which were clear.

Then I read a post on here about someone's coupe having a leak which sounds by all accounts the same as mine, they've fitted a new door seal, which appeared to sort this issue out.

I wanted to take the carpet out, so that I can dry it and also make sure the leak is sorted.
