    ebay heater matrix's.. any good?

    anyone bought one of these?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEATER-MAT...item565d7f2b22

got 2 to do and would rather only do them the once.. will they last aslong as the originals did or is it another ebay special that lasts 10 minutes if luck is on your side?

There is a lot a labour involved in changing them so my gut instinct is to go for a quality genuine item..............but there not exactly exposed to the elements and if the coolant is changed regularly I would doubt in the real world a cheap one would fail anytime soon. I have a GSF one installed 4 years ago still good.

Could well be fine, I'd ask who make's it. I got mine from eBay a couple of years ago and paid ever so slightly more than that for a Valeo unit identical to the orginal one I removed

I purchased a matrix for my old coupe off of eBay, the make was Nissen, worked spot on an never had any leaks. Was only £20 iirc

I ended up buying 2 matrix's from carparts4less (eurocarparts) and they were both wrong. Pipes that go through bulkhead are far to short.. Anyone got a link to a matrix they've successfully used???

RST, you were lucky then. I had a Nissens main radiator fitted to me RS2 and it lasted <10k miles, it may as well have been made out of tissue paper. This is the one after market brand I conciously avoid when looking for parts.

just had a genuine Valeo one fitted to my cabriolet - must be the way to go, the one that came out looked like it was the original one from 97, nothing in the history or service schedule to indicate otherwise so thats got to be a good sign
