    Avant Ariel replacement

    Hey guys.

The Ariel on my Avant has been broken off at the base and only a small part is left on the roof.

My question is.... Do I have to remove the entire headliner to get to it? Or is there a way of just dropping the rear half down to gain access?

Any help is very much appreciated,
    Tom.

Just pop out the rear light at the back of the headlining and access it through the opening.

        (ish)

You will first have to remove the rubber cover on the base of the aerial on the roof. This will expose a nut that has to be removed.

Then you can remove the cargo area light and pull down the electronic amplifier box which will look like this below. But don't get too excited. It is tricky to remove the coax cables. You need to push the black cable ends towards the amp while pulling the cable away from the amp. (Note: one of the coax cables is probably prep for the original handsfree Motorola armrest phone).

On the B3/B4 chassis, the antenna base mounting nut is on the interior of the roof.
