    heated steering wheel

There are a few things i'm doing with the S6 while the interior is out (ICE, lighting, heated seats, instrumentation etc). What I'd really like to have is a heated steering wheel. I reckon this shouldn't be too difficult to wire up and could run off the heated seat switch.

The question is - where do I get a suitable heating element from? I googled it expecting to find a few options and have found nothing. Stripping out of an old heated wheel doesn't seem like an option as they are selling on ebay for hundreds.

Anyone BTDT or even tried this in their cars?

    Cheers,
    Tom

Thanks - I saw that and thought it looked good but it's bound to be expensive.

I'm going to start experimenting with some of these

Does anyone know if how exactly is the heater wiring routed from the wheel to the steering column? The UrS6 sport wheel uses the "airbag lint cable box thing" behind the steering wheel to connect airbag to the steering column cabling. Now loosely hoping that if it could be replaced with similiar D2 unit that also integrates extra wiring for heater element it could be fairly doable.

With -20c outside in the morning it sounds like something i would like (along with shifter knob heater)
