reduce RS2 recaro height

Has anyone successfully managed to reduce the minimum height of the front seats?
I'm 6' and it's damn tight wearing a helmet with the seat dropped to its lowest position.

It looks like it should be possible to cut and re-weld the rear arms on the recaro seat frame to give an additional 1" of drop. I'm planning to try this next week. See how it goes and maybe drop the front too if needed.

Just wondered if anyone had any advice before I have a go. Cheers.

Sounds like a good amount. Maybe more than I need.

Did you keep all the electrical & mechanical adjustment working with that drop?

i am 6,6, and i could not even drive with the stock height (i had the sunroof also), that is why i had to lower it so much.

Did you chop/drop the front of the seat too, or just the back?

The coupe is slightly lower than the avant so you have an advantage with an avant.

No sunroof also helps - not that i need it myself - my uncle at 6'2 had no issues with a helmet on in my car though! Its worth at least an inch of headroom!

Flat-topped helmet perhaps?

just the back, the front would be much more complicated to lower...
