I am posting this as a seperate thread as it might be of interest.
I am changing my headliner from platinum grey to black, so I have been investigating ways of changing the colour interior parts such as buttons and switches.
VHT do a vinyl paint but I found it does not bond well to the grab handle/sunroof control plastics.
Foliatec Interior Colour Spray Paint works much better than the VHT paint. This soaks into the plastic and does not scratch off unless you scratch the plastic itself. It also retains the texture of the original plastic.
The third method I looked at was color dye with Rit Dye.
Before:

After:

Notice the transparent symbol does not take the dye. A fortunate result.
30mins soak in 90C water mixed with the Rit Dye. I just added 20% of the bottle to 1l of water.
Unfortunately not all plastics are the same, and most of the interior is based on glass reinforced polypropelene which wont take the dye colour, but will take the foliatec.
Hopefully with those two methods I can get a hard wearing finish.
