    Rear seats removal

I've got the side bolsters out but can't figure out where the backrests are bolted to, was thinking I needed to remove the door card and trims but can't see anything there. Is there something I'm missing? Help appreciated

Fold one half of the split backrest forward, now look at the exposed side of the upright backrest to see a piece of black plastic trim. You need to slide this trim up from the bottom and off to reveal two screw heads. Undo the screws to remove the back rest.
Repeat and rinse for the other side.

If the screws have never been removed make sure you use the correct sized screwdriver. They are stud locked in and VERY tight to remove. If you round them its very hard to remove them.

I would recommend using a ratchet and a phillips #3 socket to break the threadlock bond.

There's a 6mm Allen key nut and bolt hidden at the pivot point. Get those out and the seat backs come out - no need to remove the screws fitted in the factory

The OFRM illustrates the method I described. Each to their own.

Cheers everyone, got them out easier than I expected apart from breaking one of the plastic trims as I didn't know how to take it out, second one came out easy enough

Couldn't find the 6mm allen key but the screws weren't as tight as I thought they'd be and out they came

To be honest the second side bolster gave me a harder time as it was tight as a

If I managed to get the seats out from a coupe anybody can

Yep will be getting them re-trimmed to match the front seats . Will also give the inside a clean whilst everything is out, found a piece of dried gum says it all!

I'm waiting for parts to do a fair bit of maintenance, lots of good stuff to come but still way too much work to do

Sounds all very nice Ryan. I have definitely come to the conclusion that either you have too much money to burn or all you money goes on the car Oh by the way.... you haven't had any girls sitting in the back who perhaps choked and spat out the gum

I'd say that the car just eats it all . I really just want to get most of what I want to do to the car done and done right first time so I can just enjoy it

Not had any girls in the back recently..or ever actually come to think of it . Did have my lesbian friend out with me a couple of weeks ago but don't think she was chewing gum either

Will you have the ABY seat retrimmed? A shame I'd say. As mentioned before why not get a standard coupe rear seat retrimmed? Will match your Recaro's better as well and you will end up with a set of front and rear seats you will be able to sell.

I got a 3B rear seat in good condition you can have but I'm afraid I can't post it due to the size.

I understand what you mean but getting everything posted out to me in Malta is way too expensive, I still think the ABY seats should turn out pretty good to be fair

Ryan talking about postage.... i just sold a mint boot lid trim for a audi 90 for £30 and the guy who bought it in Russia didn't care about the £45.51 cost to post. And it only weighs packed up 2.65kg.

It happens, sometimes you just have to have it!

Thinking of getting my steering wheel done as well now , think the re-trimmer could fit an RS2 steering wheel badge on whilst re-trimming? Then I can just spray the rings black and have a cheapo RS2 wheel
