Seat tilt lever not working aby S2

I was looking at my car the other day and when I tried to get into the back I operated the lever on the side of the seat but it would not tilt forward.

Having never done any work on a car seat before I need some advice, does anybody have an idea what could be wrong and if it is repairable.

Any pictures of how the mechanisim looks / works would be great.

    Thanks

Can the mech be made to lower the seat more. I sit very high in my S2.

      Tilt?
Check the holding hooks operation on the bottom of seat. Then cables inside the seat.

Torn cables are to be replaced. Worn-out ones can be fixed by drilling holes for cables in the hook further than stock holes.

        Thanks

So it looks like the cable hook could have come out or its possible the cable may have snapped.

I hope this cable is still available from Audi

Or the cable may have stretched so it doesn't release the hinge. If it's only slightly stretched you can sometimes add a washer to the other side of the cable hook which effectively makes the cable tighter and therefore releases the hinge again.
