    Recaro seat base height

After installing my S2 Recaros into my Avant this weekend I've come to the conclusion that they're not meant for the shorter gentleman. I'm about 5'8" and am struggling to find a comfortable position.

My choice is either a) position the base as low as possible (which is how I like my seats), but struggle to get my leg over the front of the seat base when pressing the clutch or b) raising the seat base so that it's level but then putting up with a truck driver seating position.

The problem is that lowering the seat base just lowers the rear end of it so that it tilts, but I want the whole base to squat down. As I'm stuck with that function what I need to do is lower the height of the front of the seat base, has anyone done this before?

I can adjust the height at the front and at the back on my RS2 Recarros, maybe the coupes used a different seat base than the Avant?

Also are yours electric? Don't know if that affects the adjustability of them

The Recarro seat base I have has 3 height positions at the back and the front, just remove the bolt and it moves up and down.

I'm 5ft 10 and I find it comfy set with the rear at its lowest and the front in the middle hole.

No mine are manual, but I don't think there is a difference in the base , but maybe I'm wrong.

Ahh right so is it a more permanent adjustment you have to make before securing the seats onto the runners?

It is a more permanent adjustment than having a lever but it can be adjusted with the seat installed in the car.

Andy are you sure yours are OEM? Never seen manuals as OEM, the front & back adjustment sounds good.
Jack I am 5' 8 and find mine just right, they take a bit of getting used to compared to the stock seats as they give a different driving position.
IIRC Skull modified his to sit lower, as he is a tall chap and his head hit the roof

Well I'm not a tall chap at all The problem is I either have my legs bent too close to 90 degrees for my liking because the seat's too high or I lower (tilt) the base and then my leg is prevented from straightening out comfortably due to the height of the front of the base.

I'll get my torch out and see if mine adjust like Andy's

These were the special option ones that were fitted to some of final edition cabs, same as RS2 but manual and un heated.

This is the front height adjuster on mine....

Yours are not like the Coupe electric Recaros Andy. I wish they were though!

I find the height adjustment poor, the front is far too high and you can't lower them enough. The are awful with a helmet on too....

Apart from the points above, they are great seats. Especially if they are heated during the cooler months.

                          Nope, nothing like that

I'm going to give them another few days and see if I can get used to the underneath of my thigh being mashed into the seat every time I change gear or pull away. If not, then they're up for sale, I don't want to butcher them when someone can enjoy them as they were from the factory.

Interesting, I had just presumed all these subframes were the same, these are Recaro branded and have 3 position height adjusters front and back

They look like the frames that Recaro sell, or used to. I have them in mine and have the same 3 height holes front and rear.
