    floor pan section removal?

Can someone answer this for me?
The section of floor pan that the front of the driver seat attaches to has rusted a fair amount due to years of soaked carpets.

    Can it be removed easily?

I want to replace with new metal but not sure if this supports the floor pan at all and if I should brace the area before cutting it out?

    Cheers

I guess you mean the cross member that the front seat mount is fixed to?
Are you sure its that rotten it needs cutting out?

      Thats the one.
Some of the holes have rusted out. A welder friend of mine is going to see if he can repair it on the car before I do anything.
Installing a fixed bucket seat so having to make up brakets for this anyway.

Should be an easy job to replace that panel. Drill out the spot welds et voila
