    MK3 Golf Recaros fitted to 3B S2

    Hi chaps,

Just spent a happy couple of days fitting some black leather MK3 Golf Recaros (Thanks Gavs20v !!!)

Not such an easy job actually, since mine is a 3B the release for the sliding mechanism had to be changed left to right, also, possibly because my car is LHD and the seats were from RHD I had an issue with the backrest tilt adjustment fouling on the centre console so had to change seats on the bases left / right.

All working great now, only slight issue is that the height adjustment is not especially easy to access, being next to the centre console, but once it's set to lowest, it's unlikely to be moved.

They're heated too.. nice bonus in the weather we've been having recently!

Here are the results (dodgy camera-phone pic...):

No loss of headroom compared to ABY seats, but I always felt like I was perched on top of them, the original 3B quattro script seats "felt" lower than the ABY leather. Not sure if they actually were.

I am comfortably seated in them (5' 11") but don't have a sunroof...

Got them 7 or 8 years ago on German ebay, I'm afraid I don't have any more details.

They are a cost effective and very worthwhile upgrade, without too much hassle - they also look pretty OE...

I really didn't like the standard seats either...

I'll see if I have any pics of the door build, not sure - I'll PM you details anyway.
