    Boot/luggage compartment light

So.. having the boot trim out again the other day to do a little more on the tow bar, I noticed the pair of wires hanging down and resting under the hidden luggage compartment. Checking things out a bit more leads me to believe they are for a switched interior light, the whole for which is in the trim just under the locking mechanism....

You can see it on this page: http://www.partscats.info/audi/en/?i...rent_id=542346

Looks to me like it uses a standard door switch (18A), with it's rubber boot (18B), and and 16/17 for the lamp and bulb.

Question is, as I know these parts cats aren't always totally accurate, do other people's coupe's have the luggage lamp, or am I chasing something that doesn't exist?

Any pictures of exactly how they fit?

Clearly mine has been missing a long time, since before I had the car, but I do have power at the wires, so would like to get this working again, as it is pretty frustrating having to remove the parcel shelf when its dark just to see what is in the boot

    Many thanks!

    Pete.

...or maybe with some googling there might be a microswitch in the latch mechanism itself...?

Cheers Martin, aware I'm still due a visit to compare fuel lines!

Wire colors will help to find out what they're for.

Oh, I'm sure the wires are for the luggage compartment light, just need everything after that to make it work, as mine appear to be missing!

It's just a light - the switch is on the tailgate

it presses into a hole in the carpet

Thanks for the part num, frighteningly expensive for what they are, aren't they?

I can't seem to find the switch or where it mounts though...?

                  Pete,

                  Pics of mine.

Looks like somebody has had a go at the wiring at some stage in it's life, as you can see it's covered in tape !

Oh awesome, that makes MUCH more sense now, from the parts cat link above it seemed like the switch was on the bodywork, was really struggling to work out how it all went together!

So, looks like I just need the lamp then, think I can manage that -thank you very much Martin
