Hi Guys, just wondering about the fitment of Audi TT seats in the coupe, does anyone know the ease of this, would they use similar subframes? Could I mount TT seats on the original subframes or is it a case of using TT subframes....hmmm..?
Reason is there are quite alot of seats like this on ebay for cheap.(Ebay link)
I'd do a search on the forum, i remember sometime back there was a member looking to do this. I think it turned out to be more difficult than they expected though.
Anyone else know about this, seems a good set of seats for £300 and only a year old too, just dont want to take a risk in buying them and then they are too much hassle to fit.
Could anyone comment on their experience with custom subframes?
i have done quite a few different seats in different vehicles now, just put some electric heated audi 200 quattro seats in my campervan, was a pain to get right because they also swivel 360 degrees as well as up down forwards etc.. best way is to get a hold of some old coupe seats and strip them down cut off the frames and modify/weld them onto the tt seats which would also require stripping to avoid damage,eg burning holes in them, quite time consuming but not difficult, cant comment on the rears but as long as they are of similar size to original shouldnt be to much of a job, good luck, would look good in an s2 though
I've looked at this and the new TT seats are nothing like the old vw/ Audi 3 point mounts. Mk 1 and 2 golf seats fit in an S2, the Mk 3 seats runners are 40mm narrower than the S2 but this is a simple mod. I have a pair of recaro seats to go in and I will use the Mk3 subframes modified of course.
Too much messing,( I don;t usually say that, must be gettig old....) find something easier.
