A6 C4 how to test fuel gauge?

My fuel gauge does not work at all.
I don't know if the gauge is wrong or other part of the fuel system
so first i want to test the gauge.
Is there a way to ground one pin connector of the gauge(like grounding the F76 sensor which sends the temperature level).

    thank you

There is a special vw/audi tool to test the gauges VW 1301 but you may be able to figure out equivalent resistor to do the test see this http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tec...01.testing.htm

Thank you for your reply.Testing the temperature gauge is simply enough to
grounding the F76 "T" connector pin.I haven't found fuel sensor connector pin list
