    Steering wheel spacer question

The RS2 is an amazing car, but it has a defect for me: I'm 1,82 tall and I cannot move the steering wheel closer to me as I can do on the UrS6/A6, and I have to hold my legs in an uncomfortable position.

I like the UrS 3 spoke wheel a lot and I don't want to fit aftermarket steering wheels without airbag, so I'm manufactufing a spacer that allows the wheel getting closer about 6 cm keeping the airbag and the horn working.

Most of the design is done, I only need to understand what is the rectangoular female seat on the steering rack and the corresponding one on the wheel.

    I post a pic:

Clockspring assembly for the air bag. Allows the steering wheel to rotate without breaking the wires to the driver's airbag. It is comprised of a flat ribbon of wiring that resembles the inner springs of mechanical clocks, hence the name.
It has a center position. It is important to center the steering wheel in the straight ahead position prior to removal. When installed correctly there are the same number of turns of the clockspring to either the right or left. Doing this ensures that there are enough rotations to the right & left without putting the clockspring assembly at the end of its' travel. If not done correctly the wires inside can be broken.
