RS2 Pillar trim colours

Hi Guys

Just about to start replacing headlining, it has the usual saggy look, Lots of good guides here to follow so I'm sure I'll manage that OK

Question though, What is the original colour of the D pillar trims and roof trim across the tailgate ? Usual story mine came out in many pieces and the only set I could get were a shade of beige

When I replaced my centre console with a factory fresh one the colour was almost black but not quite, Darker than the sunroof motor trim cover, Anyway ...

Found a supplier of plastic paint (Kolorbond) who can supply all RAL colours in spraycans in either mat, satin or gloss, Colourwise Anthracite is RAL7016 but the trim looks darker, more like RAL7021 or even 9011 with black being RAL9005

I wonder if my local Dulux trade centre has a colour scanner ??

Anyone done this ? If so what paint and colour did you use

All trims on the rs2 are anthracite which is pretty much black. But it's unlikely that any pillars are available.
The easy solution is to find from a salvage car any trims and then use some black fabric and cover them to match the roof. This way you avoid squeaks as well!

Luckily a year or so ago I managed to get most of the pillar trims and all the D pillar trims I needed, Local breakers had 2 80 avants they were breaking, Since been back and they were gone

Perhaps an idea to cover in alcantara the same as the headliner

Ooh yeah know about those squeaks, replaced front section of centre console to get rid of those and managed to get one with locating tabs still in tact but worst squeak has to be from the drivers B Pillar, I'm sure cloth tape will solve that

PN = 8A9867295A = Left 8A9867296A = right, anthracite for RS2

Same PN for all B4 avants, A80, A80Q and RS2. Ecru or platinum for non-RS2 B4s.

I have pretty much 6-7 years back managed to acquire all of them in black as second hand from Germany. I knew better when my old audi 80 B3 had similar problems and ended up fixing the pillars with screws... not a pretty sight.
I have had already one piece broken by the trimmers when they did the roof for me so that's when I decided to trim everything in fabric. It's brilliant
