  • Modifications required for installation of CAT?

My RS2 was remapped by Dmitri in 2011 with catalyst delete. I would like to have custom 100 cell racing cat fitted permanently. Will the ECU need to be remapped to reflect the higher exhaust back pressure? Thanks Don
    Cheers

I don’t think it would affect it much don but best asking prj first as he did map the car and would tell you all best Michael

100 cell will not add any noticeable backpressure. It should be just fine.

presume its to pass a ticket.

question is will 100 cell do that. if not its not worth it.

i spoke to jetex a wnhile back and they said 2 were needed to meet the power goals for me (circa 5-600hp)

in the end mine runs very clean with no cat and passed the pre 1993 emmissions without a hitch.

It depends on the cat, but proper sized 100 cell cat passes the test just fine, i mean one that is around 5" in diameter, proper big thing, not a fist-sized ebay jobbie. Made 950hp with two on those on a RS6.

I already have swapable 100 cell Cat but usually run without it. Custom s.s. shell with plat core. Power currently in excess of 400 bhp. Just looking to reduce the hassle of changing it over for emissions etc. Having recently had Old Bill suggest that I was driving circa 100mph on a motorway (they obviously were mistaken), having a fast car is impractical unless used on the track.

Just fit it permanently, I don't think you will lose any performance with a 100 cell big cat until some 500hp.
