Interface is best on the Pioneer, and also has the most controllable sound.
The Sony was a b*tch to use, and didn't display the RDS station name when it switched to RDS, which really p*ssed me off.
The Blaupunkt was just a waste of space.
Kenwood was the best price/features/performance compromise.
Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
For my money you can't beat the alpine units, they have a lovely build quality and a excellent sound even without amps. The menus are all different just depends what you are used to i suppose.

This is proper high end stuff. No fancy crap with an 18 letter acronym. Simple yet very effective. A mate of mine has had two CD HUs and swears by them.
I own an Alpine MDA 7755 and Kenwood KMD PS971. Both decent MD HUs with RRPs in the £400-£500 bracket. Kenwood piano black finish looks great in the S2! Alpine lacks features but Kenwood can be a bit tempremental as the flexi lead on the MASK system is a well know weak point. Both available off Ebay for around £100.

Have a read on the Talk Audio forums. Think you will find some Becker units fare well and would fit in well with the Audi dash. I peronally have an Alpine unit (copper chassis) which I am more than happy with.
Cheers
