I'm going to install new speakers, now the question is, wich coaxial speaker set is any good?
I know a component system is better but I don't have the budget for it...
Recommendations?
Im also looking into some speakers for my UR. I have the original size holes at the back which i am sure is 17cm. Im after a really good bass sound and decent treble. I dont want to put subs in the boot so this would be my main bass source. Any advice? (sorry for hijak)
3'' Longlife Exhaust, Koni Adjustables, H&R Springs, Full RS2 Setup with Mr Nugents RS2 Chips (just need the RS2 Airbox)
Those are component speakers anyhow, seperate tweeter and dual output of the woofer
In all honesty they will do the job nice for the rover.
I'd go for some big 17cm or 19cm
Stevieyid, for bass you need a sub it's a simple equation normal speakers dont handle below 80hz to well. Some claim to go into the 50hz but this is sub area.
Below 63hz to get decent bass you need a sub woofer
For the rear of the car I would not get too picky on sound quality as it will be behind you. You need to focus on the front speakers if you want a good souding system.
IMO a pair of decent components and a Sub with standard rear speakers is going to sound excellent if set up correctly.
If you cannot stretch to a sub then as Jamo says, get some decent 17cm speakers with a good frequency range from a well know manufacturer. I personally rate Kenwood, but I know they are not really Audiofile quality but I think you will be hard pressed to tell the difference....
Cheers,
Steve
