Need to know stock stereo wire colours

Hi guys, I've recently bought myself a 1992 S4. I removed the headunit today to replace it with an mp3 cd player only to find one of the previous owners has done some pretty pikey wiring job involving electrical tape and terminal block!

As you can see by the photo it is a bit of a mess. I've got the aerial and cd change wire sorted, also I think the after market wiring is for the front door speakers.

If anyone could give me a thumbs up on what each colour represents that would be fantastic! I'm fed up of driving with only the radio, due to a distinct lack of tapes!

    Thanks
    Henry

Thats a pretty bad mess there. I'm not 100% sure on the wire colours, i'd probably follow back the wiring and see how I got on if it was me.

Red + yellow is the perminant and ignition
    Black - ground
Orange - normally for light dimming

for the speakers. I used to test mine by using a normal AA battery and putting the plus and minus to the speaker wires which would make the speaker "crackle/pop" and let you know which one was to which side etc.

Search the web for standard ISO block wiring colours.

Nice looking stereo, I've just fitted this in my S4

It's similar to yours but without the Bluetooth, but it does have a USB port on the front and I've just bought a 2Gb USB stick off the bay for a tenner. I think I'm set for about 2 weeks
            Not bad for £70.

Ah yeah, I did consider the USB headunit seeing as though memory sticks are just so cheap these days! Been playing with the bluetooth today as a hands free system it's also possible to stream music from my palmtop and phone straight to the head unit which I hadn't realised you could do!
