Look what i found! - Now need advice :D

I'm a bit of an ICE virgin
On the advice of my geeky mate I was browsing on the bay and spotted a bargain so i snapped them both up as a pair for what i am told is a very Very VERY good price Seems so given the retail of £678 for the pair... i paid less than 1/4 that :mischeif:

    Profile 4

    Profile Sub

I'm planning on running a single 8" or 10" sub in a boot box and some front components.

After some advice on a decent quality sub, and a set of components for the front in my coupe - not looking to break the bank, budget of about £100 - £150 max. Can anyone rcommend me something decent?

I've been advised to run the front components using all 4 amp channels unsing the onboard crossover... is that the best way to go?

    cheers guys

    Defiantly

When you use the crossovers you can remove the low frequencies from the components.
This means you can have it LOUD with no distortion

Mrs rj scottys golf is set up in this way and is capable of setting alarms off

Just get quality branded speakers and good cable.

    cheers

Would sound good with the sub amp running the 8" sub in the boot then a mid and high range set of components run from the 4 channel- all the deep bass in the boot!!

I have had very good results using jbl speakers
      http://www.jbl.com/car/products/prod...at=COS&ser=GTS
I run these as front speakers at the moment- excellent sound

      Nice set of amps btw..

Go for JL Audio stuff, try the 10W7 sub and they have very good components for you in that price range!
          Top grade equip!

Forget JBL tho in my opinion, they belong in novas and saxo's!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

Yeah i was after top sound quality rather than chavtastic bass or anything, my mate steered me towards the Genesis amps and i have found a bargain here i think judging by his abusive response when I told him how much i paid for them
He suggested building a system around the amp(s), which is what i am doing.

He also recommended JL Audio as the subs to go for, so i've got my eyes out for a nice middle of the range 8 or 10 incher

DLS and Rainbow were the components he mentioned, but from looking about they don't do 4" component sets. I know a lot of you guys really rate MB Quart, but the prices scared me!!!

Where are the best places online to look for this more elusive high quality kit?

The next headache will be working out the best way to do an install whilst keepinig the spare wheel (I don't trust tyre weld )

            Cheers guys

DLS do 4" speakers so did Rainbow.

Other make to consider is Boston.

I have a JL Sub, it's a nice sound if not a little clinical
