Think someone was on the 'pop' last night, got dressed in the dark this morning and put the missus' thong on ...back to front...

    Sorry...

I can't help but get the feeling Paul, that you are making it more complicated than it needs to be!

Buy the Head unit YOU like.
Buy the 4" Front speakers that fit. (Most sets that are round and have removeable "ears" rather than a Square basket will fit)
Buy a set of 5.25" rear coaxial speakers and fit them in the rear 3/4 locations
      OR
Get a small active (built in amp) subwoofer put it under the rear seat and forget about the 3/4 speakers unless you want to sit in the back.

£300ish ought to see you there!

      Cheers,

      Steve.

        2. What is the size of the OEM tweeter and therefore what is the max size that the replacement can be?
        3. What trim mods are required if any?

There must be some BTDT's out there, preferrably with copious pictures Failing that, does anyone have a set of rear trim panels off the car that they can post a picture of? (and then sell me as one of mine is broken)

A dichotomous situation indeed , but I concur with your philosophy, parity is never easily achieved here...

Yes Paul, my car have too active speakers in the rear doors.
The best an cheaper option is change the original 5" speaker to 6" and cut the "condensador" and put 2 way crossover to new 6" speaker and to original tweeter.
To do that only must cut 4 wire and reinstal they properly.
