Double Din Retrofit

I kinda like the last one but i think you can squeeze some larger vent area and shorten the vents to still be able to use them. That way everything stays in place.
Only thing I don't know is heat between the double din and the ac. Would that be a problem?

Ok I have decided to go ahead with the movement of the clima down to the ashtray along with the additional instruments and lose the ashtray all together.
As I couldn't find any clima trim anywhere I ended up buying the audi a4 b5 trim which had the same clima and mounting points and I will be cutting that to fit as well as potentially use some carbon trim to cover it.
I have managed to find a plastic trim of the additional instruments and use those 2 as templates to mark and cut while keeping the current parts intact so that I don't end up in a mess.

Ok,
After ordering and receiving an rns-e android look alike although it looks very nice, there is a major problem with regards to fitment.
Even though the sides can be trimmed, there is a backplate where the screen is screwed on that still measures wider than the existing opening on the dash. Going back at the images one can see that all have been very tightly fitted and even pushed the dash wide to squeeze in. I didn't want to have that so it will be returned back for a more universal replacement.

I think I'll be using this instead. Made for VW it spans 190mm wide and I think it should match better than a universal unit

So this fits nicely on the centre console but a border will be required either all around or 3 out of 4 corners depending on how it's placed.

Do you have any photo's on how it looks?

i'm going to keep the vents since i have a turbo gauge there. So I'm going to move the butons to the shelf under the steering wheel

Ok project will not go ahead due to high costs for retrofit.
The android unit I bought is up for grabs if someone wants it. Paid 300£ for it and it is still boxed.
