    "On a budget" amp install

OK, to put it bluntly I'm skint and sick of crap sounds in the avant so for about £30 in cable and Mdf I have built the following from equipment I had lying around

    System spec is as follows:

    Sony Mp3 head unit
    Sony expolod 12" sub
Legacy 4 Chanel amp for rear doors and sub
Pro plus 2 Chanel amp (give to me for free with blown power transistors, now replaced)for fronts
jbl 5.5" gto's in rear doors
    jbl gto's in dash

The basic design is a false floor using the spare wheel well to contain the sub whilst retaining the spare wheel and space for a 10 stone dog and my son :mischeif:

It sounds better than I expected

Only carpeted the top 6 inches as original carpet covers the rest

This rustic effort will be replaced with a grill soon

    cheers

    Nice, very sly

whats it sound like? I had a very similar setup in one of mny mk2 golfs and didnt find the wheel well to work particualarly well as an enclosuer / ghetto box?

I was not expecting much but it has exceeded these low expectations.

Like say say I'm going to try a grill and possibly a port but your quite right in what you say the wheel well is a predetermined size and not anywhere near ideal as an enclosure.

Still the dog fits and it cost next to nowt to do

Good effort. Nice idea, look's good and the robbers will never know. Dog fits well too! Top work.
Just some finishing touches to do now

Excellent use of space there - good thinking... And scarey lookin 'dug' by the way - keep him in the car as a theft deterrent.
