Hi
Can anyone advise me on the size of the speakers in the rear doos of the avant.
I am looking to retrofit with the minimum of hassel.
Anyone found a particular speaker to sound great I would be keen to know what it is.
Hope someone can advise!

The standard rear speakers are 5 and a quarter inch components. You can fit 6.5 inch but i believe you have to make the cut out bigger. I have some Kenwood components fitted, i am pleased with the sound, the only downside is the tweeter is a bit small for the space They do sound good though. I have also just bought some 4 inch MB Quart components for the dash, they again look the part but i have not got round to wiring them up yet.I have also fitted a sub woofer too- i lashed something up myself to fit inside the spare wheel,it is probably too small but it works well and adds more than enough punch to the sound. I'll try and get a few pictures ......
thanks for the info Jubjub
I have already replaced the dash speakers with a pair of Kenwood KFC-PSR107C Dual mags which sound fantastic considering their size and the fact that they are firing straight at the windscreen. (Tip for changing the dash speakers is to have a right angled screwdriver to hand - makes life alot easier!)
Thanks again

I fitted 6.5 inch Blaupunkt's in my rear doors. You do have to make the cut out bigger but they just about fit. Easy enough with a Dremel though & they sound pretty good.
