Just bought a '98 Audi A3 for the missus, but no stereo fitted.
Any suggestions on where to get a signal amplifier for it, I've found some on eBay for around £10 all in, like THIS.
Will that do the job?

That will do the job fine but you may not need it depending on the aerial fitted and the stereo you fit. If the aerial has a 12 volt feed to its base then it already has an amplifier in it unless it's failed in which case just treat it as an aerial without a built in amplifier.
Fit the stereo of your choice. If the FM reception is poor and MW non existant you need an aerial amplifier like the one you've highlighted from ebay. If all works fine without it, don't bother as fitting an aerial amplifier can give you problems in strong signal areas if you don't need one.
I'll give that a try first before spending a tenner
