    Ignition Switched Live for ICE

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know this topic has probably been covered at Least a Million times, but I didn't have my S2 then
I know that VAG (and Vauxhall??) dont use the 'conventional' pin configuration for the 8way multi-plugs, and the Radio works, but doesn't go off with the ignition. There is a separate insulated (blue??) connector, but not live- Ign on or off. Is this the cable I am looking for, as an Ign switched supply (fuse blown, somewhere, maybe?).
I know it's schoolboy stuff, but I dont know the answer
    Thanx, Tony

If I remember there is no ignition live on the s2 you have to run your own wire from somewhere else.

Surely the OE radio was Ignition-Switched?

Can you not tie into the thick black wire from the back of your ignition switch? It's a good guess that if you have an alarm fitted this will also be the point where it has been butchered in and just wrapped in sticky, nasty black insulation tape.

Until 9 days ago, it was Knightrider's car, so I can't imagine for one minute that anything other than solder or a Proper connector was used. I still don't understand how the OE unit was switched off when leaving the car if no Ign Sw Supply was used from new?

With the on off switch (/volume dial on the original tape deck/radio unit)

Its just a bit weird if you come from a background of other cars.

I just found it hard to understand why a World-Beating manufacturer like VAG would allow you to leave the radio on when leaving the car! You cant leave the headlights on

Even the Kia Picanto's music goes off with the key

                        Dunno.

You can leave the lights on as well, it should make a loud BBBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ noise when you open the drivers door if the engine is off and lights on.

It has been known to wire up the ignition live feed to the side light circuit. This way you can only have it on if your side lights are on, and you get the BUZZZZZzzzzzz! To remind you to switch off both

I'll pull the radio tomorrow and see if I can find an Ign Supply available. If not, I might just have to listen to the Milltek Tune insteadLife's a Bitch, eh?
