    navigation question

During my visits to ebay I always see people selling navigation stuff from an A8,A4 etc. Are these possible to fit in a S2, has someone done that before?

    cheers,

    Erik

There's no reason why you couldn't fit it. It would need a fair bit of effort to get it to fit in the dash but as far as the wiring is concerned it's not much different to a standard radio.

Erik, personally I would not go for that option. I got a Garmin 60C http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsmap60c/ which I can use in all our cars, hire cars, when I am overseas or even hiking. Worked like a charm when i was in Europe (your neck of the woods) and the UK recently. It has all the functionality of the in car GPS's (except for the irritating voice commands - it uses beeps instead - but if you want that get a Garmin StreetPilot http://www.garmin.com/mobile/products.html#automotive) and seems a much cheaper and more versatile option.

The problem with an in car GPS is that you can't really use it when you need it most - a foreign city like New York where you would not have your car

          thanks for the answeres!

Yeah, I know a hand gps would be more functional, my dad has one with Tom Tom 3, it works great. But I dont want one that stands on my dash. If you can properly fit one in it would look great, it even has the same red light in the night.

Navi Plus build in my urS4

I nice belgium female voice navigates me through city's and villages.

I hooked up an CD/MP3 player to the Navi plus.
Volume I set via the Navi Plus.

I bought a special audio interface cable via the internet to do this (30 euro).

You even can hook up a DVD player.
This then uses a very expensive media_adapter (250 euro).

I filled up the navi plus sideways with hard foam.
Including this foam the dimensions are; see photo.

I covered the foam with black leather.
And the rest of the frontpanel with carbon foal (dutch= folie).

                        Navi plus language.

The voice (WAV-files I believe) is on the CD.
When you slide the CD in you will hear: "The language is being loaded".
In my case in Dutch; "De taal wordt geladen".
There are special Navi Plus internetsides. Freaks that even change their start up screen. Photos's of their love ones or photo's of their car. They change the firmware to do so .Via CD this FW is being loaded.

So it just doenst matter from which country you buy the navigaion plus device, it is just a matter of buying the right CD for your country. Have you also installed the TMC box (traffic message controle ???)?

                            Navi plus traffic announcements.

                            It stores traffic announcements.
By pusch of a button you can recall them.

The system even shows you the nearest audi dealer.
I don't know if that is good or bad.
