Rear speaker suggestions

I've just re-wired the audio in my coupe and as I prefer to have most sound coming from the rear, I'm not sure how well this would work out with the rear speakers mounted down low in the side cards.

Can anyone confirm if the sound from just the rears(decent speakers + amplifier) is good and doesn't sound choked by being mounted low?

I then started thinking of mounting speakers on the rear parcel shelf instead, there are pods available that would make this possible but I'd rather keep the look standard if possible. Any thoughts or BTDT?

Remember that as well as the speakers in the rear side panels, there's also a tweeter up higher at the base of the window so the sound from the rear can be good as long as you replace the rubbbish OE Nokia speaker.

You can make the sound even better as you can easily fit a bigger 5 inch speaker and seal it to the side panel allowing you to use the side comparment as a loudspeaker cabinet. There's a few posts on here from people who've done that.

There were 6.5's already in there with a make shift plate fixed behind to screw the speaker to which was done by the previous owner. I bought some nice Alpine 6.5 splits and improved the install with loads of nice black window sealant for proper baffle sealing and damping wool to reduce resonance. The tweeters are modded with the previous adapter and fit in nicely as well. Should hopefully sound good.
