Thanks Jamo & Ant - much apreciated.

I had thought about getting a new aerial, but couldnt get to the nut for taking the old one off, so figured the booster might be a solution.

Just another quick question, how do I avoid amplifying the booster and the aerial ? Would it cause damage if this was done by mistake ?

    :-)

        Update on radio reception...

... Just fitted the booster I bought on Ebay and it works a treat. Cant believe I have been driving around with no radio for a year before getting it sorted.

If anyone else has a poor radio reception, I would really suggest trying one of these boosters. Mine only cost £9 and can be fitted in 5 mins. Looking forward to tuning into Radio 1 on the drive to work :-)

Is there a standard route for the ariel cable down from the beesting to the head unit? Ive just put a booster in at the head unit end and noticed zero difference so I need to check the actual ariel feed. Last time I had the back seat up I couldnt see any obvious looking cable as I expected. On the cq20v it ran along the top on the tranmission tunnel and was easilly visible. The wiring in this car has seen some action tho!

              cheers

Where is the best place to get an original fit antenna for the coupe's these days and how much does it cost? I went to GSF today and theres are universal ones that dont have the correct aerial connector on and I can do without the hassle of changing the aerial connector aswell.

I have a UrS4 Avant and with anything other than the standard audi foot long ariel all other reception is woeful. bought a few stub ariels off of ebay but these are more or less useless unless in central london. It just seems that it has poor reception...

Just bought one of the Vauxhall aerial bases from the above example from ebay:

                      http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The seller has plenty of them and they are OEM Vauxhall ones so should do the job nicely.
