    Woofer Set up

    HI

Was wondering if someone had tried out different setup of the subwoofer in the trunk? Made my first cabinet with two 12" Rockford Fosgate with the 60 degree angle on both sides in pressure chamber. (towards seating and back) with the elements facing backwards. No holes in the plate covering the trunk. Works good in higher range of the woofer. But i think it might be bether solutions.for example facing the elements forward, or facing it to the right or left from the wheel well...

Gonna build me a new cabinet with the 12" Focal Utopia element so i match up to the rest of the system.

Mine is in the spare wheel well in a custom box facing sideways....

      Works for me!

Bass is very unidirectional so it should not make much difference which way your sub faces.... (In theory)

Bass is non directional, but the direction the subs face has a baring on the resonance of the bass from within the car. (Try facing a face towards the rear seats and then towards the boot opening and there is a difference to the audiophile )

Isobaric configuration of 2 subs is the best i've heard, but the box ideally needs to be professionaly built.

I keep my ski duct open when alone in the car. With the ski sack remowed the two compartments are connected and the bass comes in more directly. Focal Utopia should be great, My front set is the 165w Utopia with the N51 tweeter. Wouldn't change it for anything else. Send a photo when yours is ready.
