Pictures of ignition switch. Locating 86S

    Thanks UrS4boy - very helpful,

For ref this is what it looks like in 'real life'. Indeed it is a thin red wire:

on the other side - this corresponds to a thin red wire

What size fuse should I put in? The radio is fused itself - is that enough?

Will attach a wire and check I get 12v on ignition tomorrow.

Great photos. They will be used in an ignition switch wiring post that I will do, with credit to you.

Personally, I would think a 5 Amp fuse should be enought (10 would be too much)

I would go with something like this:

      RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan
      94 UrS4 V8 6 spd manual avant

Good news I can report that indeed a 12v feed is coming from that wire. I heath-robinsoned a quick test to the radio - it works!!

Disconnected again for now until fuse arrives - found something similar on amazon here in the UK - http://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Trade-Di...85G/ref=sr_1_1

I'm not going to be able to get a soldering iron into there - so I'll probably have to splice it

I'll update with pics when I get back to it - probably not until next weekend.

Radio is in, fused and working

I've finished running a wire from the ignition to the radio and put an inline fuse in. All is working great.. All I need now is some sort of taste in music

I no longer have any CDs so I put A Kenwood BT unit in

          http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00HUWU26S

As I had the dash out, I have run the mic to sit just behind the wheel - seems to work well when making calls.

All in all pretty pleased with myself.

It amazing how cheap head units are now, the mic behind the steering wheel is a nice idea
