    Whiteline fitting probs

Tried to fit my whiteline arb today and had some problems.

One side fitted fine, all lined up with the holes etc and the bush was on the flat part of the bar where it should be. Then went to fit the bush and clamp to the other side and it was nowhere near the holes, in order to get that side to fit the bush had to be on the part of the bar which has a bump in it, theres no way thats correct, no matter how much "fiddling" and adjusting i did i just couldnt get it to fit.

Anyone else had any issues like this? when you look down the length of the bar it looks like its twisted slightly.

Think im gonna have to send it back to DT and try another. PITA

Have you put the original and Whiteline bars together to compare them? Mine were identical in shape. Just the diameter and drop link hole positions were different.

I havnt done that no, i will hold the whiteline up against the original tomorrow, not like there are many places of positions the bar can go in, its pretty much restricted to where the bushes mount on the bar.

will post pics tomorrow to explain

I had the exact same problem when I fitted my Whiteline rear ARB. I just put one side on real loose and then forced the other side on so that both sides were half on the flat and half on the ridge then I tightened them down at the same time. It seems fine now. The polly bushing has worn a little where the bend is but doesn't seem to be a problem.

yes thats the problem you would need the bush half on the flat and half off, that doesnt seem right to me. should be all on the flat like the original is. pics later this morning

Doesn't sound right to me. Mine fitted without any problems and the poly bushes were on the flat section of the bar, nowhere near the ridges.

Mine went on ok too, apart from the drill holes in the sub-frame brackets being slightly off which required a bit of filing. Is the car itself straight - ie the subframe, the drop links etc?

After you get it tightened down its only the very edge that is on the bend. I know it doesn't seem right but it works fine and doesn't make any noise so I am happy with it. Also, its a good idea to put a nut on the back side of the bolts for extra strength. My subframe is straight so I assume this is a whiteline bar defect. When I held mine up beside the old it was the same on the outer edges of the bends but the extra thickness of the bar is why the bends are closer to the flats.

How did you get on with the Whiteline ARB? Any photos? Is it fixed and running ok, or did you send it back?
