    Front drop links

Ok, I have a fubarred right front droplink

    - it probably died due to the extra force being put through it as a result of me putting the RS2 farb on there and not replacing the droplinks at the sametime - such a cheapskate me eh!

Anyway, quick question - are there any differences between the S2 and RS2 front droplinks? I'm guessing I should replace the bushes as well, I was planning on the normal rubber ones but has anyone any experience of poly bushes here?

    How much are front droplinks?

Two types available Dan, Plastic ones on the S2 and metal one on the RS2. I believe the metal ones are the prefered option, especially when using the RS2 Farb.
IIRC they are around £28 each off Marty + the dreaded.

Are they the same part across the whole Audi 80 family then? Do they come with the bushes as part of the pack does anyone know?

i believe early s2's came with metal ones.

mine had metal ones to start with unless previous owner(s) changed to metal.

made such a difference when i replaced mine, had all sorts or knocking and play, cheap and easy fix to suspension probs.

Well I ordered the ebay ones we'll see what turns up I guess - they're the same P/N as the metal ones listed on VAGParts so they look the same. Hope it cures the suspension probs

Does anyone know if the droplink kit comes with replacment bushes? If not, what are the P/Ns to get those too - might as well do the lot at once?

Drop links are supplied complete - all you need are new locknuts.

S2s came with metal droplinks as standard until 1994

Got my droplinks this morning, that was quick -exactly as pictured above. Hoping I can get them fitted on the car before the Xmas-drive-a-thon this weekend... Also hoping it cures the strange front-end behavior and clonking noise on full lock!

Quick question about re-fitting front droplinks - I presume you have to take the wheels off to take the droplinks off and on, but then to re-fit the ARB the car should be back on its wheels to make sure it's all weighted up and aligned?

Nah use an axle stand if want but it's not necessary.

                              Use these as a guide.
