    strange things at full lock

Hi can any one help ,whilst turning on full lock in wet or damp conditions ,theres a feeling the front tyres are slipping its hard to describe. The car has got koni/H&R drop links no more than 15000 miles old ,RS2Farb ,powerflex bushes, 20000 mile Blue top mounts. Could it be the tyres under half worn pirreli P6000 or bottom ball joints,it only does it on full lock, please any ideas ,there are no other noises. Thanks

I was going to suggest that this sounds similar to my car at the moment - it makes strange grinding or thumping noises when manoevering on full lock and yes it feels like the tyres are skidding: at speed, the steering feels vague at the straight ahead but is ok once you dial in a bit of corner. With me it turns out one of my droplinks is shot.

I would suggest it likely could also be the topmounts already, they're notorious for wearing out, even within 6-12months.

You can get metal droplinks, and yes you can get uprated topmounts, QRSport make them, quite a few people here have them on now and say they're a major improvement

QRSport topmounts are ace. They also do droplinks.

Ive got new bushes, top mounts, subframe mounts, drop links. I get the same feeling of front tyres sliding.

Also at full lock with some pressure on front suspension (i.e. slightly braking while hard cornering) i get clonking like sounds from front suspention.

Can suspention make clonking sounds? I always thought it was the rubbers around it that would make the sounds (bushes).

This is what my car is doing feels like the front wheels are skiping along the ground or grinding thumping sound..

How is easy is it to do the droplinks.. Is it a job you can do at home or is there a bit more to it.?

very easy to do drop links. one nut on each end. You will need a 13mm and a 15mm spanner IIRC. The bigger spanner goes on the flat on the drop link and the 13mm loosens and tightens the nuts.
