Strut Brace Mounts

Hi there Peeps.

I am arranging with Pete in America to bring 3 sets of Strut Brace Mounts over here. Aparently they are the last three sets in North America

Is there anyone here who would like a set. Two have already gone to WAB and I, the 3rd is going to be replicated for all so that we have some available.

If you are interested please let me know so I can get all neccesary made in one.

Got to get the things over from the states yet but they will be exact replicas from the OE fittings. As soon as they get here I will post Pics for you all, price I don't know yet as soon as I have them in my hand the fabricator is getting a set to replicate.

So just hold your horses as I am just guaging interest at the moment.

But do you have some other details then ? Like, they're chromed and adjustable for example ?

From what I can gather the originals are just stock black.

The sets that I get made up will be capable of being polished if that is what you wanted. This can be answered closer to the time when I have them and am happy with the first off the fabricator.

If that is okay.

Well the repro ones that I get made can come in any colour you want or you can paint them to match the car yourself to keep cost down. I am just trying to find the cheapest way so that people who need these can get them. I will know more and any questions will be easier to answer when the OE ones are in my hands.

Don't forget that they have to be spot welded to the Strut Towers, which means that some of that finish is going to have to be ground off :-)

Had another idea- anyone interested in any way.

Just thought about adjusting the strut brace mounts when I get them made to encompass a rear set. Turn them upside down - sort of - so that a set could be made ofr the rear.

Any thoughts????

Wait, are you going to import stock front strut braces from the U.S.?????
I got the weld on pieces brand new from Audi for about $13 each and the cross bar is just a piece of square stock with end plugs.
I am not sure what you're going after...

Sorry Desmo. They are on the way from the states and hard, if not impossible to get hold of without drilling them of a scrapper here. So I am getting some made from the ones I'm getting sent over from the states.

Back to the last Q though - Anyone thought about changing some for the rear???????

I know OMP do the rear brace but buying a piece of polished bar and two mounts for the rear would be cheaper!!
