So, for a future project I will be converting to 5-lug. Now, is there a way to convert to 5-lug while retaining the 75mm bearings? Can I use rear S2 coupe hubs at the front? How will this affect my track? Is it even possible? If not - what about A4 hubs? Are there any useful A4 bits? OR - Do I have to turn to 82mm bearings???
EDIT: This concerns a '88 B3 Sedan Quattro. A Audi 90 Quattro Sedan 1988.
Don't know if they are the same at all, but for simplicity, try to get hold of the S2 Hubs and carriers. Just swap them over (if they fit). That is what I have just done on my CQ20. Damn site easier than changing the bearings etc.

Yeah, but then you'll need the beefier DS's which I don't want to fork out dough for right now. There was some discussions about using some bearing from a 100/200 and 82mm bearing housing - a bearing that had the ID of the 75mm but the OD of the 82mm. Anyone know?
Rear S2 hubs CAN NOT be the same as A4. Mance, aka 1pissed90 used A4 rears on his B4 90 V6 and they pushed his wheel out like 10mm per side. According to ETKA there is no such thing as a 75mm 3B hub. All hubs for S2 were made for 82mm bearings.
Sticky - how are the rears different from the fronts? Besides bearings?
If its anything like my experience with the US spec Coupe Quattro, nothing is clear...
I _believe_ that all two-piece strut/hub assemblies ( you can unbolt the strut from the wheel housing without removing the entire strut/wheel assembly, ala the type 44 and type 85...have the forged wheel housings
My Audi Coupe 20v Service training manual for the US 1990 Model year states:
"Both the front and rear suspension assemblies now use forged wheel bearing housings that are bolted to the strut housings"
Of course I'm stuck in the US model paradigm...

The CQ uses the same bearings as the S2, both front and rear. I installed 95 ABY hub carriers on my 1990 CQ. Pull the old 4 bolt hub carriers off, and put on the 95 S2 hub carriers.
I had to ream the holes in the strut from 12mm to 14mm, because the later CQs and S2s used the larger ones.
No change in the drive struts.

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.
you have to use the most parts from s2 front end to fit this...s2 have only 82mm bearings,BUT some audi cpQ have 82mm too,and some others, like the convertible, and the diesel(1,9)...there are at least 6 diferent front ends, and you have to look out for the different....ive done the change to my 32bsyncro(quantum).....they dont have split stut and hub ether. in the rear ends you have to use the s2 5stud center.
