    FARB link arms

    Guys

Both my front FARB link arms are dead. One keeps poping off the joint all together.

Are they both ball joint ends like a track rod or is one end just a popover bush (mine are that stuffed that is what keeps happening).

How much should I be looking to pay for them and where would be the best place for them?

    Cheers

    Aaron.

P.S. Is there anypoint in uprating any of these parts at the mo to Powerflex etc if they do these parts?

as before, get all ur audi parts from vag parts.

and if u do, no need to check price as it will be cheapest for the OE parts.

I had 2 new drop link arms put on recently, supplied by VAG.

while i was at it, also supplied from vag parts, i had installed RS2 FARB, subframe bushes, wishbone bushes, track rod ends.

next step suspension n springs, and after that if the knocking dosnt go away, i will beat it with a big stick.

I have just done the top mounts to greens at the front and left the rear OE at the moment till I get the front end sorted. I also want to uprate the bushes and the FARB. How much was the RS2 one and will it fit my CQ20? Track rods have just been replaced hance just had a track and complete alignment done. Still out by miles on the camber though. I really need to get all of this sorted in the next few weeks as tat is when I get my 3B ala Wab done.

Can someone just confirm that the FARB link arms should be the RS2 parts when upgrading? I've got plastic link arms on mine and I know they should be replaced with metal - I'm thinking it's the RS2 front droplink arms I need but just want to make sure!

        Cheers

The RS2 ones are the same as a normal Coupe metal droplinks, the S2 for some reason got crappy plastic ones.

I got some from my GSF source this monday (discounted) as mine thread stripped at the garage meet causing some nasty knocking noises. part number is 42468, i believe normal price is £19

O.K now heres the kicker, ask to see the part before you buy them!

GSF have a load of stock that comes from china to replace normal stock! the chinese drop links have the wrong thread type on them!!!!

The ones you want have made in germany on the boot and have the same part number on them as the Audi OEM drop links. They also have a a red ring seal.

When i changed to the RS2 FARB on Sunday, the droplinks i took off were metal, but they were thinner than the RS2 ones i replaced them with.

EDIT: I may have been mistaken of course.

Well I got mine from Euro Car parts. Only difference between the two items was the new ones are gold not black. Same sort of quality and all fitted perfect. Touch tight but all went okay. Infact it only took about 10 mins to get the things on but two hours to get the old ones off. DOH

There is a part number difference between coupe and RS2, also when looking the price is slightly different, i think the RS2 item was about £1 or £2 cheaper.

Im going to replace both my front drop links as i still have a knocking noise thats only become apparent since the suspension went on and im now sure that everything is tight so hopefully these will cure this problem, as Jamo has a knocking that seems to be the drop link im hoping this will cure my problem (I need one anyway as the boot is split so may as well do both)

Strange i stand corrected, the ones i got look identical to the RS2 ones and the ones i've got on my car already. Although i did get those ones with my RS2 anti roll bar.........
