    Wishbones

    Guys,

Are the wishbones the same on the front as on the rear?

I am about to change everything and I have one day to do it so I have a shopping list which I need to pick up by Sat morning so I can get it all done before MOT.

Wishbones all round - mine are rusted I just fancy renewing everything.
Bottom Ball joints all round - obvious reason.
Sub frame bushes - well may aswell as I don't know when they were last done.

Is there anything else that I shound do??

The wishbones should come with bushes so I will wait until these go before upgrading them, the front top mounts have been done rears to do and I need to do a CV boot on the front passengers side.

Anyone know where I can get them at a good price?? I have been to three different places and have 3 wildly different prices ranging from £300 to £600!!!!!!!!

    Cheers

Greg How do you tell the difference. I'm guessing the cast ones are solid type and the pressed ones are like a steel skeleton. If I am right then I have the pressed ones on the car at the moment.

Its really obvious when you see them. the cast ones are skinny but solid material, the pressed ones, larger but thin material, if you get my meaning....

One quick peek under the car will be suffice

            Azman:

One of my coupes has the pressed steel ( we call them stamped) front control arms, a type 85 style ARB, and a three bolt ball joint the other the cast....the cast one has a larger ball joint than the stamped one, 3 bolt ball joint, and NO ARB mounts ( ARB attaches to the strut via long links.

BTW, the front stamped ones are no the same as the type 85 stamped front or rear control arms...being that they use a 3 vs 2 ball joint...

Well I will be looking into it in the morning. I have decided to send it for an MOT first and then fix the bits they say (just so I can retax it) and then work on the rest of it t the same time. Cheers
